The Alabama Women’s Initiative, Inc. is an organization formed by a group of Alabama women concerned about the status of women in Alabama and its effect on the welfare of our state. This effort is nonpartisan and not a part of any other organization.
Our mission is to educate Alabama women and all concerned citizens about the role of women in effective leadership, and to assist women and women’s organizations in finding more effective means of participation. We have printed and distributed a report titled, "The Status of Women in Leadership in Alabama" and have been speaking to various groups about the data presented in this report. We plan to update the report and reprint following the 2002 general election.
The Alabama Women's Initiative is involved in the following issues:

Women in Alternative Working Arrangements
Local, State and National Programs supporting Women's Issues. |
