Cahaba Girl Scout Council is chartered by Girl Scouts of the USA and serves Central Alabama in the following counties: Jefferson, Shelby, Walker, Blount, Cherokee, St. Clair & Walker.

Girl Scouting is an informal educational program - fun with a purpose - for all girls in grades 5K through 12th. We offer a safe, secure setting where, under the guidance of caring, dependable, trained adults, girls are provided opportunities to achieve their individual potential, care for their overall health and well-being, develop values to guide their actions, provide service to others, and build relationships

In 2001 The Cahaba Council served 16,973 girls in our seven-county service area. We are providing after school and summer activities in 10 public housing communities, 10 public libraries and 2 schools. Additionally, we are providing Girl Scouting in the School Day in 44 schools and 24 Headstart Programs in 6 counties. Outdoor education is offered at both of the Council properties in Jefferson and Shelby Counties. In 2001 over 16,000 were served through outdoor programs at Camp Coleman and KPC.

Mission: To inspire girls with the highest ideals of character, conduct, patriotism and service, that they may become happy and resourceful citizens.
